I found the discussion to be very interesting to hear despite not being able to be there it in person. Going into art professionally has always seemed to be a risky and niche career option, so it was interesting hearing about someone who went into Russian history and found themselves in an art field. Faberge eggs in general have always fascinated me, I frequently go to the VMFA and I've seen their collection quite often. The Tsar's personal belongings always seemed ludicrously lavish in a time period when so many people had so little. Historical pieces of art, particularly valuable sought after ones like the Faberge eggs, always seem to hold fascinating pieces of history which I enjoy hearing about. It's interesting hearing about all the intricacies of the history of even just one egg. And the story of Karl Faberge himself was really neat, showing how a young person became the creator of one of the most famous series of art in the world.
